Headed to Vegas next week to play poker for a few days. Has anyone been recently and what was the experience like? 8 handed with dividers? I thought about cancelling the trip but a friend I committed to going with won’t back out and insist on going. I was going to try and golf 1-2x and just play PLO @ Aria . If anyone has been recently is there any atmosphere in general on the casino floor / bar lounges?

I was there a few times in January. Weekdays are somewhat depressing, no conventions in town, not many people, and the people who are there are not exactly cream of the crop. Weekends are a different story, the vibe is back and aside from the masks and plastic dividers, it seems like the same old Vegas. Then again, my last trip was Super Bowl weekend, and it actually was the same old Vegas, so not sure how things will be on weekends going forward. You get used to dividers pretty quickly, and I don't think they are show-stoppers. I love winter golf in Vegas, so no difference there. In summary, i would certainly take the trip, if you really enjoy Vegas and all it has to offer. If you're into fine dining, most places are open and once you are seated you'll forgot we're in a pandemic. If you are a lukewarm Vegas enthusiast, even in good times, i would probably stay home and wait for things to get better.

Went back August. Bellagio crowd was all dregs and ghetto people spending their stimulus checks. Shitty scene all weekend.

Fucking sad. Damn Covid. Usually go 2-3x a year. It's been since January 2020 and man do I have the itch.

Went Super Bowl Weekend. It was hopping. Not the "element" that was around last fall. Seemed almost as crowded as a normal Vegas weekend pre-pandemic. Not much different other than the dividers, masks, and every other machine turned off.

I went during December and it was dead. Much different 6 weeks later.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Flights still on for Friday unless the airport is closed with all the snow. Aria comped me a Sky Suite and gave me $500 in resort credit I’ll use at Javier’s and Catch. I made a reservation at Venetian as well to get $1,200 in Bonus Bet chips they have for me. Will do 25-36 (pretty sure that’s the bottom 12) on the roulette table and see if I can’t win $3,500 off of that. Golfing Red Rock country club (Mountain Course) Saturday and will play PLO cash @ Aria in and PLO tourney at Venetian. Have a 25% stake in a friend playing the $2,500 main @ the Venetian so have that as a sweat. Excited for the trip even if it will be a different experience. If posting pics is easy I’ll post pandemic Vegas for those that haven’t been once I get there.

Good luck. Was there last week for work and Red Rock was busy. Ditto for Cosmo and Aria. Felt bad for employees constantly having to ask adults to please put on their mask.

Total shit show Seymour. Walking the strip at night felt way unsafe. It was 90% ghetto people, or the junkies and bums that crawled out of the shadows from the outskirts of the strip. No way did it feel safe out there. Hell I think that was the time multiple shootouts took place during the summer.
Until the out of towners (not from Cali or Arizona) and foreign tourists return, it won't feel the same. The convention crowd is really leaving a huge hole in the feel of Vegas these days.

Again this was in August. Maybe its better since restrictions are loosening.
